What an A4 ceramic decal printer can do

A4 covers more ceramic work than most people expect. The CP-500 prints decals up to 286 x 200 mm, enough for mugs and cups, small plates, tiles up to 20 x 20 cm, memorial portraits and gift items, and several small decals nest on one sheet. It runs the same INEQS ceramic toner as the production printers, so the colour fuses into the glaze the same way: photographic detail, dishwasher safe on suitable ware, and as durable as the piece.

Who the CP-500 is for

Hobby users, potters, small workshops and studios testing digital ceramic printing before committing to a larger system. It suits custom and on-demand work: a personalised mug, a single memorial plaque, a short run of tiles for a client. When volume grows beyond a few hundred sheets a month, the toner, profiles and workflow carry over to an A3 or SRA3 printer.

New or refurbished

Either way, the CP-500 is converted for ceramic toner, calibrated and profiled before delivery, and comes with a starter toner set, a decal paper sample and a remote setup session. INEQS technical service supports it on the same terms as every production printer.

Getting started

Print your design on waterslide decal paper. Coat it with coating spray or liquid cover coat, which suit small runs without a screen printing frame. Soak the decal, slide it onto the ware and squeegee out the water from the centre outwards. Dry for about an hour at 40 °C, then fire with the curve supplied for your toner set. The full process is on how digital ceramic printing works.

A4 printer options at INEQS

The CP-500 is one of three A4 routes. The Ricoh SP C440 is the most sold A4 ceramic printer worldwide and is available used, and the IM C401 is a compact A4 printer on a Ricoh engine. Tell us what you make and INEQS will recommend one and send a fired sample.
